Prayer: The simplest yet powerful solution
In today’s world we find people suffering from stress and many more such issues due to the problems and situations which they face. While we are in such situations, the typical thought that runs in our mind: ‘How I wish I had a solution to all my problems and they all could just vanish away’. The article presented here gives us just that one solution that works in each and every solution and that is PRAYER.
Prayer is the most simple and yet powerful solution for liberation from stress and alike.
Prayer is a state and a posture for receiving grace and peace from God. It is a feeling and a method of communication with God. There are various kinds of objects present in nature and there are various kinds of people in the world. Whatever need arises in a person’s body, that thing gets attracted to that person. Prayer creates the optimum state inside you that facilitates the arrival of that thing you need into your life. Prayer is the answer to the question – ‘How to get whatever we want?’
When a person experiences suffering, he contemplates on how he can get rid of it or whether there is a higher power that can end his suffering. These thoughts and these feelings take the form of a prayer. One day he gets the insight that when some feelings had arisen in his heart and some words had emerged from him,those feelings and words had become a prayer. Suddenly one day an intense cry for help had emerged from his heart, after which his suffering had ended…, he realizes that cry was ‘prayer’.
Whenever a difficulty arrives in your life or you suffer from stress, remember that the solution has been provided to you even before the problem was given to you; in much the same way that Mother Nature arranges for mother’s milk even before the baby is born. All you have to do is find the cause and the solution to your problem or stress which is already within you. Prayer will help to bring out that solution.Prayer is the greatest power that has been given to human beings, even before a problem comes knocking at the door. We do, of course, tend to act foolish because of our ego and therefore end up not making the best use of this superpower. Prayer is in fact a system for conversing with God. It is the fastest and direct mode of communication with the Almighty, and hence has tremendous power. It can bury your worries, liberate you from your stress about stress, or even melt a rock as if it was merely a piece of wax. It can stop storms and save sinking ships. Prayers can not only fulfill the desires of your mind, it can also help you attain ultimate liberation or salvation. Surrender your worries to the Almighty and believe that they have been resolved in the best possible manner. This will send your thoughts and prayers to all corners of the universe and pave the path for fulfilling your wishes and liberating you from stress and misery.
How should one pray? Here’s a short story that will help you understand how one should pray. A farmer used to pray regularly twice a day. He used to offer a different prayer each time by reading it from a book. Not a single day did he miss his prayers. One day he was travelling to the city. On the way it was time for his evening prayer, but hehad forgotten to take his book along. Hence he prayed, ‘O Dear Lord, my memory is poor, but you know all my prayers. I will slowly recite the alphabet (A, B, C, D) three times. Kindly compose a prayer from them. My infinite gratitude to you.’
He then recited the alphabet. God said to His angels, ‘Many different prayers have come to me till date, but today I have received the best one!’
The key point here is that the feelings are more important than words in a prayer.
Who to pray to? Always pray to someone who is ahead of you, who is a higher being or the Supreme Being. By praying to the one who is at a higher level than you are, you increase your possibility of reaching that level. Pray to whoever you consider to be truly great. It could be the Self, the Self-Witness, God, Lord, Allah, spiritual master, Mother Nature, Existence, Consciousness, the Supreme Power, the Creator, the Source, God-at-rest, or any God you believe in. It’s important that you should believe it to be the highest source that would work for you.
Always remember to pray. Even in the most dreadful situations in life, where you see no hope on the horizon, you should still pray. It is never too late to pray. The results of prayer can come any moment. Never say, ‘It’s no use… it’s too late to pray now.’ To deal with stress in the right manner, you should use the extraordinary power of prayer even before any stress crops up in your life. That way you would be able to utilize stress correctly and confidently instead of getting bogged down by it.
Say the following prayer when you are undergoing stress:
‘I am peaceful in the presence of God. I am experiencing unbroken peace even though difficulties and stress loom over my head. I have been created by God. Therefore, joy and peace, that are the nature of God, are steadily flowing in my heart and mind. God has not created anything to disrupt this peace. Whatever may be the cause of my turmoil, it is not on the list of the Almighty. I am surrendering myself into the lap of God just like a tired child surrenders and rests on its mother’s lap. Waves of joy are arising all around me and I am feeling a sense of peace enveloping me. I am calm, comfortable and stable. Peace… peace… peace…’
